Health Care Representative
Job Summary- The Health Care Representative is accountable for the sales and marketing of Health Care Accounts at Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Sales and Marketing/Account Activity
- Establishes goals for respective region to create growth and profitability within region.
- Creates proposals and programs for health care accounts as needed.
- Prepares and conducts presentations for prospects including services, implementation plan and on-going evaluation of customers.
- Educates sales force on selling health care and marketing Hawkeye Foodservice.
- Assists Healthcare Manager/DSM to achieve growth of health care accounts through targeting account penetration, product demonstration and overall promotion of services provided to the customer.
- Plans and conducts educational presentations, product cuttings and In-Services for Hawkeye Foodservice accounts, sales force and state organizations.
- Responsible for the coordination and participation of trade shows.
- Develops, maintains, and evaluates new/existing customer files.
- Assists in the development, maintenance and evaluation of marketing tools and services that would benefit health care customers.
- Attends sales meetings and other meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as requested by Supervisor.
- Works with the department staff in training, developing and maintaining MENUgistics Menu Program and other departmental functions.
- Performs data input or retrieval on Surequest, Food Distribute and Power sell systems.
- Plans, implements, incorporate and communicate any information addressing state/federal regulations as they pertain to the food service and health care industry.
- Responsible for organizing seminars for state show.
- Maintains written and verbal communication of account progress Health Care Manager.
- Types and creates letters, reports, correspondence and other materials as necessary to complete various job tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Equipment
- Grasp ideas/tasks quickly with good organizational skills.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks under time pressure while working independently.
- Experience with menu writing principles helpful.
- Possess excellent problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and ability to operate computer. Previous experience with, Excel, and menu software helpful.
Education and Experience
- B.S. degree with emphasis in Food and Nutrition/Dietetics strongly desired. R.D. eligible preferred or degree in health care field desired.
- A minimum of one year work experience in food service distribution and/or clinical field a plus. Previous sales experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and/or stand during 8-hour shift.
- Must have ability to withstand long periods of time working at personal computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs on occasion.
- Must be able to spend up to 50% of the workday driving or t raveling in vehicle.
- Requires overnight travel.
